For our valued clients, you may have heard about – perhaps even met – some of our team’s pets; they’re talked about more than their partners! Where the environment is appropriate and permissions have been sought, we welcome our team to bring their pets to work.
We appreciate that when working full time, it can be difficult to provide pets the attention that they deserve. Though we’re not quite at the level of BrewDog (pet parties may be some way away), all the pets listed in this article are well loved and cared for by our teams’ families. This is why we chose to depart from the usual case-study format amd enjoy a light-hearted glimpse behind-the-scenes at Heritage Property Repairs.
Of course, within our small team we don’t have favourites… so in no particular order…
Rossi

Rossi is a 12-year-old Working Cocker Spaniel, named after the motorcycle racer Valentino Rossi.
Rossi has been well trained by Hannah. Although they probably will not admit it, Rossi has lent a helping paw to Scott and Hannah raising daughter Lyra. He is a loyal and trusting member of the family, extra soft and cuddly during the cold Christmas period.
He likes: playing fetch with pretty much anything you can throw, long walks with his other canine friends, lazy afternoons cuddled up on the sofa, and family adventure days out.
He dislikes: other humans, cats, terrible music, mum and dad play fighting, and the postman of course.
Although his favourite food is cheese, he is fed this in well-ventilated areas due to the toxic gases produced! Ironically, Scott added that Rossi snores louder than any human alive, and also barks at any loud noise.
Grizelda AKA Zelda

Zelda is an 18-month-old Black and Tan Doberman. James struggled to connect with her during the early days, but his partner Stacey soon trained them both! Since then, we’ve all seen how much James loves both the ladies in his life – even though he won’t admit it.
Zelda is happiest when playing fetch or running in fields. She is unhappiest when people walk by on the pavement past the front window, especially when there is a knock at the door.
She was rejected from doggy daycare for constantly trying to discover what or who was behind the fence surrounding the property.
James adds that Zelda is an “intense but loyal and loving doggo”.
Nia (“Ni-yah”)

Nia is a 1-year-old Cockapoo. She’s frequently been onsite at our latest project and our clients love the ‘site dog’ as she is now referred.
She will give you all her attention if you have food. Initially I had to check with Shaun that he had actually fed her! Usually, she is following Shaun and will only be stroked by her owners – or James since he has secretly become some kind of Dog Whisperer…
Alice

Alice is an 11 year old lurcher. Her favourite food is all food. She dislikes vegetables, but Will does not view these as a food anyway!
Of course she also hates cats. Alice enjoys snuggles on the sofa and a good walkies
Fun fact: a dog’s nose is unique like a human fingerprint. Some countries such as Finland use nose prints to identify dogs instead of microchips.
Bertie (“Bertie-Boo“)

Bertie is 18 years young, which – according to Purina – makes him 88 in human years! His birthday is 14th November which he shares with King Charles III. He obviously always expected to be treated like royalty and remains a Bony Prince.
Fun fact: the oldest cat lived until 38 years and 3 days old, in Texas.
Bertie is actually owned by my partner’s mother, who conveniently lives next door. He therefore commandeers our garden and regularly summons us for snack duty whilst roaming our house.
His favourite food is anything that he can chew easily, as he only has 2 remaining teeth! He is the epitome of a scaredy cat, frequently hiding at the first hint of a stranger approaching.
Bertie dislikes everyone and anything. Especially vacuums and loud noises – although he has steadily gotten deaf and generally grumpy. He likes to be fed early, so his owner has never needed an alarm clock. In summer he likes to watch the birds and hunt for mice.
Now the Christmas tree is up, he is enjoying sleeping under the branches, however it is more likely that it is just in the way of his radiator!
