Last year we reroofed both elevations of a stone built terraced house in Lancashire. Many of the Welsh Slates were in good condition meaning only a small supplement with handpicked reclaimed.
Welsh Slate are aesthetically pleasing and durable. Undisturbed and installed correctly, their lifespan could exceed 100 years.
The full list of works undertaken in-house by our team of specialists included:
- Strip and Sort Welsh Slates
 - Source and handpick reclaimed suitable Welsh Slates
 - Extend the overhang of the roof where stone copings had previously sat
 - Detail around the existing rooflights
 - Strip both sides of the roof felt and battens, replacing with new
 - Install insulation and timber spar repairs
 - Strip and relead the stone gutter using expansion joints
 - Welding new lead outlets to the hoppers
 - Lead Welding Chimney Aprons, flashing and soakers
 - Rebedding ridges in lime mix

We were requested to repoint the Chimneys in lime mix as future variation works.
